This post is spurred on by a recurring phrase one of my employers continues to use much to my amusement. See, I myself am a fan of stretching my vocabulary and use of odd, outmoded, or unusual phrases, so what transpires on this blog, I'm quite sure has been said about me at one time or another. I am also a people watcher, and thoroughly enjoy finding the uniqueness in individuals, so I end up seeing a lot of things others don't see about people.
So, this comment made by my boss: " That's a fright!" that seems to escape his lips every time something odd, weird, troublesome, or dumb comes up. It strikes me as such an odd phrase, and the fact he's my employer made me think of Office Space, as Lumberg is the king of obvious idiosyncrasies, namely: never finishing his sentences, which strangely enough was the same affliction my principle in highschool suffered from. I cant tell you the hours of enjoyment spent comparing these two figures. Continuing with this train of thought, have you watched the new TV show "The Office?" absolutely hilarious. I have yet to see the original British version but the American version is chock full of embarrassing, awkward humor mostly perpetrated by Steve Carrol, the most absurdly awful person you could ever work for. This show has already had its finale for this season but my fingers are crossed for a second season.
Idiosyncrasies, they are what make life entertaining on so many levels, not to mention interesting. I must say without his wacky comments spurting out of nowhere my boss would be worlds less entertaining, he's a good guy and all but, well his sense of humor is, not my style most of the time.
